BOMB BUDDIES
Summary
A 2-player co-op AR party game made in Unity where you face off against a devious hacker!
I was a Game Designer and Narrative Designer on Bomb Buddies, connecting the design and narrative teams with a heavy emphasis on systems, sequencing, and documentation.
My Work
Designed and documented 6 core microgames on a team of 40+ with 3 other designers.
Created user interface wireframes and state flows for all microgames.
Researched AR and phone affordances including point clouds, face tracking, hand tracking, AR projection, microphone input, light sensors, and gyroscopes.
Ran playtests to test affordance prototypes and gather usability feedback.
Wrote full narrative sequence as a screenplay and line sheet, including interstitial dialogues with The Hacker, a comedic villain. Revised for party-game pacing regularly.
Directed voice actor in the booth, implementing VO and returning for pickups.
Regularly coordinated audio, art, and engineering teams to implement microgames.
