Summary
An experimental UE5 adventure game that explores non-linear design and user interactions with a graph interface.
As Lead Designer, I made a usable, dynamic, scope-friendly system for players over a 1-year development cycle.
My Work
Designed all core systems, including first-person point-and-click navigation, modular dialogue, and reshaping reality with a graphing interface. Over 100 possible combinations!
Implemented non-linear, combinatorial content in Unreal Engine 5 and Sequencer within a small production scope.
Documented puzzle flows with multiple routes and dependencies.
Ran narrative reviews, acted on playtest feedback, and presented to faculty stakeholders.
Led a junior designer, coordinated with narrative team of 6, and worked with an interdisciplinary team of 35+ from pitch to Steam publishing.
Results
A warm reception by casual and experienced players alike at USC Games Expo 2024.
A front-page feature and 80k+ downloads for the Epic Games Store release in January 2025.
