EPIC MEGAGOLF

Summary

A live-operated multiplayer UEFN experience mashing up military and shrunken aesthetics with mini-golf. Includes a hub, tutorials, cosmetics, a full course, and quest and leaderboard systems.

Epic MegaGolf was created for the Games as a Service and Live Operations (GLO) course in spring 2024. As Lead Designer, I pitched the project, recruited and led the team, and actively developed and presented an MVP version for a board of faculty stakeholders throughout 4 sprints.

My Work

  • Recruited and led a team of 4, including an environment artist, UI artist, and project manager, through a 5-week development cycle.

  • Created macro, economy, sample quests, and content/events cycle for a scalable live-operated experience with a 1-year operation period.

  • Designed full level, referencing military bunkers and ‘60s sci-fi and propelling co-op.

  • Implemented core systems in Verse, Fortnite Devices, and Sequencer, including level select, quest objectives, user interface, player telemetry, and leaderboards.

  • Presented weekly progress to a board of faculty stakeholders and playtested twice weekly, preparing for release on the UEFN platform.
