EGGY PARTY
Summary
Level design, engine research, promotion, and community work for Eggy Party following its regional launch in the US. Eggy Studio at NetEase comprises a team of ~400 developers collaborating worldwide.
I was a Map Design Intern at NetEase in the summer of 2024, and made compelling levels for players in Eggy Workshop across several genres with a throughline of physical comedy.

Created bi-weekly levels, trailers, and tutorial content targeting a US audience for Eggy Party, supporting events such as the Take Me Dare horror level showcase and Mini Tournaments. Presented level proposals, prototypes, blockouts, and set-dressed passes within weekly sprints.
Level work includes:
Eggsorcists Series - 143736 - Multiplayer combat maps inspired by Ghostbusters, featuring boss fights and environments based on scenes from the movie.
Dungeon Eggy - 980808 - Multiplayer action-RPG dungeon with multiple paths and hidden areas, 3 companion characters, a boss fight, original skills with upgrade paths, and 5 enemy types.
Fight the Principal - 299110 - Single-player platformer stage with a boss fight finale. One of the top 5 most played Eggyverse maps for the month following release.
Eggy Party Massacre - 288583 - Single-player slasher horror stage including dynamic lighting & color grading, jumpscares, monster & NPC behavior, and narrative flow.

Contributed to weekly design standups, presented level content and proposals to a multidisciplinary team of mentors, and reviewed level and social media metrics.
Ran playtests with target players for level content and game interface.
Collected feedback on US marketing efforts and IP collaborations.
Gave usability feedback for a custom level editor, including bugs, interface usability, and translation.
Created tutorial and documentation content and mentored other map creators, supporting an international community of over 40 million DAU.
Results
Promoted Eggy Party through level and social media content following US launch, engaging players and fostering an international community.
Popularized horror and minigame map trends in Eggy Party in advance of the Take Me Dare horror event in August 2024.
Built a following across TikTok, Discord, Instagram, and YouTube, leading to Fight the Principal being one of the top 5 most played Eggyverse maps for the month following release.
Pushed the boundaries of the Eggy Workshop editor, creating intricate but pick-up-and-play levels like Dungeon Eggy and Eggy Party Massacre on a biweekly basis.
